1994, submitting for confirmation the following
appointment to the Planning Commission:
Leonard S. Tanaka, an Independent and resident of
Hilo, replacing Donald L. Manalili of Hilo, whose
term of office will expire on December 31, 1994.
He is owner and President of T & T Electric and,
if approved, will serve a term to end
December 31, 1999.

Shoreline Setback Variance applications to allow for
the re-evaluation of the proposed Cove project.

the requirements of Ordinance No. 820, as to the

Comm. 399.02: OPPOSITION TO PROPOSED INTERSECTION OF PUALANI
SUBDIVISION AND HUALALAI ROAD - KONA
(ORDINANCE NO. 93-76 - PUALANI DEVELOPMENT CO.)
From Lee Adair, President, Kona Orchard Subdivision,
dated February 25, 1994, informing that their Board of
Directors are opposed to any street originating in the
Pualani Subdivision and intersecting Hualalai Road,
mauka of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Belt Road).
States Hualalai Road is a substandard County road with
many winding blind curves and heavy traffic. Requests
notification of any and all meetings to be held by the
Planning Department or the Council pertaining to the
Pualani Subdivision.
Comm. 399.03: From Gladys M. and John K. Bibb, dated February 22,
1994, regarding the proposed intersection from Pualani
Estates development into Hualalai Road which they feel
will negatively impact their residence and the value
of their property. Suggests that a straight street
run from Pualana Estates to Lako Street and open up
Lako at the upper end of Hualalai Road.
Comm. 399.04: Copy of letter to Councilman Keola Childs, from Gladys
Bibb, dated March 8, 1994, stating that the most
feasible solution to having an acceptable second road
out of Pualani Estates is to connect up with Lako
Street.
Comm. 399.05: From Janice Palma, dated March 18, 1994, regarding the
proposed roadway going from Pualani Subdivision to
Hualalai Road.
Comm. 399.06: From Lee Adair, President, Kona Orchards Home Owners'
Association, dated March 18, 1994, requesting to be

requesting that discussion, of the proposed

Hualalai Road, be postponed until the Council meets in
Kona; also, would like to be given a timely notice of
the future meeting.
