Paris, Jr., dated July 22, 1994, informing of his resignation to the Planning Board of Appeals due to personal reasons, effective July 31, 1994. Urges prompt replacement be made to fill his vacancy on the Board. Also, states the vacancy need not be filled by a Kona resident as the Board is presently composed of three members from Kona, including himself; one each from Kohala, Hamakua, Puna and Ka'u, and that Hilo is not represented by anyone. TAX MAP KEY 9-9-06.08 (14 791 ACRES) From Planning Commission Chairman Fred Y. Fujimoto, dated April 10, 1991, submitting a bill to change the district classification from 14.741 acres of land from Open (O) and Agricultural - 1 acre (A-la) zoned districts to a Single Family Residential - 15,000 square foot (RS-15) zoned district located along the west side of Piimauna Drive, between the 14th Fairway of the Volcano Golf and Country Club and the Volcano Golf and Country Club Subdivision, Keauhou, Ka'u. Informs the applicant withdrew its commercial zoning request during the hearing process. Further informs the Planning Director recommended denial based on the unavailability of public service and utilities, specifically, potable water to service the subdivision from an approved public or private system, which is contrary to the goals, policies and standards of the General Plan and Council Resolution No. 698-83. Comm. 2171: Copy of letter to Planning Commission from John H. (1991) and Juanita F. Shaw, expressing their opposition to the subject zone change and urging that the proposed PC-43 Page 6 August 9, 1994 Comm. 2171: zone change be denied. States they realize that the (1991) date of the public hearing was November 29, 1990, but (Cont'd) that they received notice less than nine days before the hearing date, and if this does not meet notice requirements they would like to request that the Planning Commission withhold decision on this matter to allow individuals additional time to learn about the project and to offer comments. Comm. 2476: From Kathryn Grout and Diane Robson, Planning (1991) Committee Chair and President, respectively, of the Volcano Community Association, dated April 22, 1991, informing their association opposes the proposed change of zone application by HSC, Inc. because of health and safety concerns. Believes adoption of the bill will set a bad precedent, therefore, requests denial of the request. Comm. 2490: From Tim J. Manzagol, dated April 23, 1991, commenting on the proposed rezoning request by HSC, Inc. Comm. 677: From Richard Henderson, President, HSC, Inc., dated October 21, 1993, requesting support of their rezoning request (C-2456/Bill 423). Transmits a map of the area showing the property's location in regard to the Volcano Golf Course Clubhouse and Piimauna Drive.
