Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed Ms. Charmaine T. Ka-ipo of
Council District 5 to the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women. She is
currently the Manager of Employment Training Services for The Arc of Hilo. Ms. Ka-ipo
is also volunteering for the American Cancer Society doing publicity as a breast cancer
survivor. Ms. Ka-ipo states that she is not affiliated with any political party.
She will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2006, replacing Ms. May Lake, who
has resigned.
