RE: Disclosure of Financial Interest in Council Oftice at Kailua Trade Center
Pursuant to the requirements of Section 14-3 of the Hawaii County Charter, I would ]ike to
make full disclosure in writing concerning the acquisition of office space for the new Council office
in Kona.
I am committed to trying to centralize County services, bring the Council closer to where
people do business, and making the office more accessible to our citizens. For these reasons, I have
held the lease for the office space in the Kailua Trade Center for the County by writing a personal
check for the first and last month's rent. It is my understanding that should the lease not go
forward, my personal check will be returned to me. Should the lease be approved, the County will
execute the lease and make the necessary payments.
