Dear Chairman Safarik and Members:
It is my pleasure to submit for your confirmation the reappointment of William Takaba as
County of Hawaii Director of Finance pursuant to the Charter of the County of Hawaii. This
reappointment was effective at noon on December 6, 2004.
Mr. Takaba has been the Director of Finance of the County of Hawaii from December 4, 2000
to the present. Prior to then, he worked for the County's Office of Aging as the Executive on
Aging, as well as serving as Director of Finance under Mayor Lorraine Inouye from 1990 to
1992.
Mr. Takaba will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 1.
2008.
