Dear Chairman Safarik and Members:
It is my pleasure to submit for your confirmation the reappointment of Christopher J. Yuen as
County of Hawaii Director of Planning pursuant to the Charter of the County of Hawaii.
This appointment was effective at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 6, 2004.
Mr. Yuen has served as the Director of Planning from 2000 to the present. Prior to then, he
was in the private practice of law since 1987, and served two terms as the Hawaii Island
member of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, from 1990 through 1998.
Mr. Yuen will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end on
December 1, 2008.
