Dear Chairman Safarik and Members:
It is my pleasure to submit for your confirmation the reappointment of Patricia G. Engelhard
as County of Hawaii Director of Parks and Recreation pursuant to the Charter of the County
of Hawaii. This appointment was effective at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 6, 2004.
Ms. Engelhard has served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the County of Hawaii
since December 4, 2000 to the present, and from December, 1984 to December, 1988.
Between her two terms of service as Director of Parks and Recreation, she was employed with
the County Office of Housing and Community Development. Her resume is attached for your
information.
Ms. Engelhard will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end on
December 1, 2008.
