Unwaii 9h720 December 7, 2004 ~ ~f0: Gary Safarik, Council Chairman FROM: Bob .lacobson, Environmental Management Committee Chair RE: Housecleaning Items Pending in Environmental Management Committee For housecleaning purposes, I recommend closing file on the following previous teen bills and communications which have been deterred in the various Canmittees and have since become outdated or obsolete, for reasons stated. I have conferred with the Environmental Management Director, and we are in agreement that the following should be filed. Some of these items may come forward as new legislation in the future. Comm. 781 (Bill 215) (1998): Erom Chief Engineer Donna Kiyosaki, dated March 24, 1998. This bill deletes language from Section 3, regarding the approval of extensions. It would remove the requirement that the County Council approve sewer extensions by resolution, including those requested by private developers. This bill was referred to the Public Works and Parks Committee on March 27, 1998, and never taken up. Comm. 791 (Bill 266) (2000): An Ordinance amending Chapter 20 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 Eidition), relating to Refuse (Recycling and Diversion, Littering). This bill was deferred by the Public Works and Parks Committee on .tune I, 2000, and never brought back up. Comm. 505 (1999): tlawai'i Island Solid Waste Advisory Committee Solid Waste Management Recommendations. This item was never placed on an agenda. Comm. 901 (2000): Kealakehe Wastewater'1'reatment Plant operation and maintenance inspection report. This Communication was referred to PWPC on August 22, 2000, deferred on January 9, 2001 and has not been brought back up. Comm. 266 (2003): Debris Dumping -Relating To Chapter 20, Hawaii County Code (Refuse), Section 20-45. Referred by the Parks and Environmental Management Committee to the Environmental Management Director on .luly 1, 2003 for review and comments.
