Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to appropriate $1,828,000 of the Highway Fund's Fund
Balance for additional funding for six (6) Truck-mounted Boom Mowers, the construction of
anew North Hilo/Hamakua Highway Maintenance Building, and the resurfacing of Palani
Road and Mamalahoa Highway.

'The FY 04-05 Budget appropriated $250,000 for Tractor Mowers, new Truck-mounted boom mowers cost
approximately $113,000 each. The FY 04-OS Budget also appropriated $700,000 for the Hamakua Baseyard
facility, cost to construct now estimated to be $1,200,000.
