Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Capital Budget by appropriating an
additional $500,000 to the North Hilo/Hamakua Highway Maintenance Building project.
The previous appropriation of $700,000 was based on an estimate for construction.
However, current construction rates and the cost for the environmental impact
statement now bring the estimate to $1,200,000. The additional funding for this project
are derived from the Highway Fund's Fund Balance.

A. REQUEST:
Amend Ordinance 04-75, Capital Budget by increasing the appropriation for the North
Hilo/Hamakua Highway Maintenance Building Construction in the amount of $500,000.
Total appropriation for 110.199.5193.06.115 N Hilo/ Hamakua Highway Maintenance Building
to be $1,200,000.00.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Previous appropriation of $700,000 was based on estimate for construction. Current
construction rates and cost for the environmental impact statement now bring the estimate to
$1,200,000.00.
