Re: Acceptance of Donations
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization
procedures of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its
approval, we request the Council's approval of the following donations:
A monetary donation of $25 to the Department of Parks & Recreation, for programs
at the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo, by The Fraternal Order of Eagles -Hilo Hawaii Aerie
#3642, Mr. Richard J. Robbins, President, P. O. Box 1326, Kea`au, Hawaii 96749.
Eight (8) bicycle racks to the Department of Public Works, for public use in the
Downtown Hilo area, with a total estimated value of $1,200 (valued at $150 each), by:
2 racks -Basically Books, Ms. Christine Reed, 160 Kamehameha Avenue, Hilo,
Hawaii 96720
2 racks -Hilo Bay Hostel, Mr. Scott Owens, 101 Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii
