In 2004, the Legislature appropriated $210,600 [o compensate the counties; however, the Administration restricted the amount by fifty percent. The County of Hawaii's shaze of the appropriation is $18,420.00, based on issuing seventeen percent of all placazds issued statewide in the last fiscal year. Enclosed is a new MOA that delineates the tasks that the DCAB and the County of Hawaii would perform relative to the parking program. Anew MOA is necessary because the previous MOA extension expired. Under the MOA, the County of Hawaii would also retain the fees collected for the issuance of all temporary and replacement placazds. The DCAB requests that you sign the enclosed MOA.
