Comm. 18: REAPPOINTMENT OF PATRICIA G. ENGELHARD AS COUNTY OF HAWAII
DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION
From Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 7, 2004, submitting for favorable
consideration the above reappointment. Ms. Engelhard has served as the Director of
Parks & Recreation from December 4, 2004, to the present, and previously from
December 1984 to December 1988. In between serving as Director of Parks &
Recreation she was employed by the Office of Housing and Community
Development. If confirmed, Ms. Engelhard will serve a term co-terminus with the
Mayor, which will end on December 1, 2008.

November 30, 2004, of the names of two community members designated to
represent the County Council on the Police Fleet Implementation Working Group.

Comm. 5.1: From Finance Committee Chairman Aazon Chung, dated November 30, 2004,
submitting the name of Hugh Clark for consideration to serve on the Working Group.
Attaches a copy of Resolution 224-04 and a copy of a Hawaii Tribune-Herald
newspaper article of November 18, 2004, entitled "Mazked patrol vehicles?"
Comm. 6: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY
(Bill 1) CODE 1983 (1995 EDITION), RELATING TO CIVIL DEFENSE, DISASTER
CONTROL (Increases the effectiveness of Civil Defense ordered evacuations during
imnendine or occurrine disasters).
From Deputy Corporation Counsel Craig Masuda, dated November 16, 2004,
transmitting the above bill, which amends Hawaii County Code Sections 7-6,
Definitions, 7-10, Loitering During Impending Disaster or Disaster, and 7-11,
Penalty.
