RE: Testimony in support of the nomination of David Kimo Frankel as
Legislative Auditor for the County of Hawaii
I respectfully urge the members of the County Council to confirm the nomination of
David Kimo Frankel as Legislative Auditor.
Mr. Frankel and I have been colleagues at the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii for over three
years. I have worked closely with him and have observed his work and his interactions
with clients, staff and the community.
I know Mr. Frankel to be thorough and accurate in his reseazch and clear and concise in
his communication. His knowledge of the legislative and administrative process is
unsurpassed. I also know Mr. Frankel to be zealous in his advocacy on behalf of his
clients. Finally, Mr. Frankel is of the highest moral character.
There is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Frankel will apply the same skills that made him
an effective lawyer and counselor to the duties of the Office of the Legislative Auditor.
