Dear Chairman Safarik & Councilmembers:
RE: LINCOLN S.T. ASHIDA, CORPORATION COUNSEL
I humbly ask you to reconfirm my boss, Lincoln S.T. Ashida as the
Corporation Counsel of the County of Hawaii. When appointed by Mayor Kim in
2000, Lincoln took on an enormous responsibility of leading the County's Office
of the Corporation Counsel. Since 2000, Lincoln has grown as a department
head and has matured in many ways. He has led the Office of the Corporation
Counsel with pride and dignity, yet he is most humble in his daily interactions
with his staff, the clients we serve and the general public.
Lincoln makes time for those who wish to see him or call him on the
telephone. He is easily accessible and turns no one away. There are no "ego's"
when it comes to Lincoln. He truly is a "regular guy."
One quality that I truly admire in Lincoln is that he believes in telling the
truth. Even if the truth is not what you want to hear, Lincoln breaks it to you
gently and the truth becomes acceptable.
Lincoln is intelligent, easy to get along with and knows the law. He
consistently looks out for the future of Hawaii County and treasures his job daily.
He tells me, "We earn our jobs here every single day....we are paid by the
taxpayers and we must earn our keep." Nothing is taken for granted by Lincoln.
Thank you for your consideration to reconfirm Lincoln S.T. Ashida as the
Corporation Counsel of the County of Hawaii for another four-year term.
