SUBJECT: DRAFT ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 20 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION) RELATING TO REFUSE FEE SCHEDULE
Forwarded for your review and consideration is a draft ordinance relating to the County refuse fee schedule.
Elimination of illegal dump sites is a key element in the health, beauty, and prosperity of our island. To more
effectively support and encourage clean-up activities by non-profit organizations and community groups, this
amendment provides a clarification of who may formally waive solid waste disposal fees and when.
The Environmental Management Commission, at its November 17, 2004 meeting, unanimously recommended
approval of this ordinance.
