Higa, Councilmember Re: Housekeeping -Unfinished Business Attached please find a list that has been prepared by the Council Committee staff, reflecting unfinished matters that have come before the various committees that dealt with Parks and Recreation and Public Safety matters in the past. Has to do with plot fees in Admin Rules ($100) (Draft 2) being in conflict with those in County Code ($35) (1995) Referred to Administration for commends/recommendations - (C-834) December 4, 1995 2. Bi11304, Draft 2: An Ordinance amending Chapter 15, Parks and Recreation, of the Hawaii (Comm. 1290.2) County Code 1983 (1995 Edition), relating to Parking, Camping and (HS&PWC-12) Hours of Operation (Establishes park hours through Administrative Rules (1996) and eliminates references to park areas which no longer exist, and removes Onekahakaha Park from list of permitable camping areas) This bill was reported out to Council, who amended it to Draft 2, passed it on first reading, and referred it back to Committee on September h, 1996. Committee never placed it back on an agenda. 3. Comm. 425: An Ordinance relating to Applications for Cemeteries. (Bi11123) From Couneilmember Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd, dated August 24, 1999, (1998-2000) transmitting the above bill. The intent of the bill is to clarify the language (Deferred-09/08/99) in Chapter 6, Article I, as to who is responsible for accepting applications (PWPC) for cemeteries, in order to eliminate differing interpretations. Deferred for discussion with Planning Director to answer Couneilmember questions. 4. Comm. 679: An Ordinance amending Article I of Chapter 14 relating to General (Bill 213) Welfare, of the Hawaii County Code relating to Alcoholic Beverages on (1998-2000) County Property. (Deferred-113/21/1111 From Parks and Recreation Director Juliette Tulang, dated and 07/25/00) February 17, 2000, transmitting the above bill; and Comms. 679.001 (PWPC) through 679.009. Deferred pending formulation of Draft 2, which never came forward Communications: 5. Comm. 1062: Transfer Lifeguard services from Parks & Recreation to the (1996-1998) Fire Department. (PWPC) Copy of letter to James Y. Arakaki from Public Works and Parks Committee Chairman Dominic Yagong, dated October 29, 1998, transmitting a copy of a letter from Parks and Recreation Director Juliette Tulang on the above matter. States he plans to place the communication on the agenda for the Public Works and Parks Committee for discussion. 'This communication was referred to PWPC on November 2, 1998 and never taken up. (1998-2000) From the Fireplace Center owner Jeffery Mermel, dated September 6, (PWPC) 1999, suggesting a public forum be held to discuss removal of trees and replanting of trees which are removed. Also suggests a site visit to each tree requested for removal on a one-by-one basis; and Comms. 434.001 through 434.007.
