1 am unable w attend today's meeting for medical reasons, but wanted to send a
supportive letter on the mayor's reappointment messages. -
¦ 1 am pleased to support Comm 12, regarding the reappointment of Dixie Kaetsu 1
as Managing Director. I did trot ktrow Ms. Kaetsu well utrtil trry first council term
started in 2002, but have been pleased and impressed with her responsiveness to
questions and concerns raised by us over the past two years. It is a pleasure to
work with her and I am honored to support her.
¦ I would like to strongly support the reappoiatment of William Takaba as Finance
Director. I have known Mr. Takaba for many years prior to my council term
when he was with the office of aging. During the past two years, he has been
extremey available and helpful regarding questions posed on issues relating to his
department. I was especially impressed by the numerous public meetings
regarding the ag tax bills that he and members of his department attended. This
wes an example of good government in action. 1t is an honor for me to support
his reappointment.
¦ Regarding Comm. 14, the reappointment of Lincoln Ashida as Corporation
Counsel, I am very pleased m support this request. Mr. Ashida has been
extremely helpful and available during my first term and has made his office
aztomeys and staffavailabk for questions az any time. 1 have been especially
pleased, having been involved for years with hospital medicine, with the emphasis
being placed on risk management by Mr. Ashida and his department. it is my
honor to support his nomination.
¦ Finally, l would also lt7ce to express my support for the reappo~*~t.*+m* of Clayton
Yugawa as Director of Data Systema..Althottgh I haven't had much personal
experience with Mr. Yugawa, he has certainly been very helpful when issues have
been discussed at the council 1 am pleased to support Mr. Yugawa's
reappoinhnem.
