Subject: Planning Committee Meeting 01/04/04
To Planning Committee for 01/04/04 meeting: I am writing to support the requests, Comm. 42 and 42.1 on the current
agenda, of our Hamakua District representative, Mr. Fred Holschuh. 1, as well as the approximately 35 active committee
members of the Hamakua Agriculture Initiative, support Mr. Holschuh's request for an opportunity to revise the vision
statement for the Hamakua District. Also, we strongly support Mr. Holschuh's request for postponement of any action on
the General Plan until his return from medical leave, estimated to be in late January. His presence, input, and vote on this
crucial document are essential to the democratic representation of all of us in Hamakua; especially in regard to an issue as
