Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 8, reports as follows:
Bill No. 8, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 28,
dated December 6, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-75, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending
June 30, 2005, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Mamalahoa Highway Improvements 110-399-5394.45 $500,000
(Mud Lane to Waimea Town)
Funds for these projects shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund- $500,000
Fund Balance and/or other Sources.
Funds will be used for the resurfacing of Mamalahoa Highway (Mud Lane to Waimea Town).
The resurfacing of this roadway is very critical for safe travel from West Hawaii to East
Hawaii.
Your Committee did not entertain further discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 8 and
recommends it pass first reading.
