Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 19-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 19-04, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 9 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 29, dated December 6, 2004, authorizes the acceptance
of a donation from the Hawaii Alliance for Community Health.
The Hawaii Alliance for Community Health has graciously donated $800.00 to the Office of
Management to offset the cost of the 2004 Hawaii Island Meth Summit III, which was held on
October 22, 2004.
Pursuant to Article XTII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. Martha Yamada, President and Ms..ian Yokoyama,
Treasurer, Hawaii Alliance for Community Health, P.O. Box 10508, Hilo, Hawaii 9672],
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee did not entertain further discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 19-04
and recommends its adoption.
