No. 35/Bill No. 13 PLACE: Council Chambers TIME: 10:05 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 13, reports as follows: Bill No. 13, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 35, dated December 6, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-75, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, 2005, by increasing the following project: MASS TRANSIT: West Hawaii and Puna Transit Facilities 110-399-5399.13 [$480,000] $1,980,000 Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from: General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund- $1,500,000 Fund Balance and/or other Sources. Funds will be used for four (4) park and ride facilities at Hamakua, South Kona, North Kona, and Puna. At the Council meeting held on November 24, 2004, the County Council passed Bill No. 348 on 2nd and final reading for a general obligation bond issuance totaling $47,000,000. Of that total amount, $1,500,000 was to be apportioned for the West Hawaii and Puna Transit Facilities. Mass Transit Administrator Tom Brown transmitted a memo explaining the purpose of this bill is to add the above project to the County CIP ordinance. As the previous Council approved an additional 1.5 million dollars to the bond float to create the park and ride lots in Kona and Puna. Your Committee did not entertain further discussion on this measure.
