Subject: Bi11312, Draft 8
Attached is Bill 312, Draft 8. Draft 8 amends Draft 7 in two ways:
1. It restores the original language in the bill (and law) that payments shall be made 30
days after the billing date rather than 60 days.
2. It adds a new paragraph (d) to read:
Where a landlord has requested that the department bill a tenant pursuant to
paragraph (c
(1) the director shall notify the landlord if a tenant'spawnent is past due; and
(2) the interest on the outstanding balance shall not commence until thirty
days after the department has sent such notice to the landlord of the
delinquency.
