Dear Chairman Safarik and Members of the County Council:
SUBJECT; LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES, 2005
On January 6, my staff met with Governor Lingle, Senator Kokubun,
Representative Herkes, and members of the Ocean View community, to discuss
the construction of a water well in the Ocean View area. The consensus at that
meeting was that our request for state funding should be in the amount of
$6 million.
In my letter to you dated December 14, I said that one of my legislative priorities
would be this water well, but the amount indicated was $4,333,000. I hope you
can join me in lobbying for $6 million, the amount now believed necessary.
