Council District 1 - Ms. Janet Coburn is a 22-year resident of Hawaii. She is currently employed as a director with the Kahilu Theatre. Ms. Coburn serves as a director with the Hawaii Preparatory Academy Parents Association and with the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, president of the Kona Coffee Festival, and a mom volunteer with Children First. Ms. Coburn states that she is not affiliated with any political party and will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2006. She will replace Ms. Deborah Davis who resigned. Council District 7 - Ms. Kathleen Peters is a 39-year resident of Hawaii, and is a self-employed psychologist. Ms. Peters desires to promote wellness and educate women in the community. She states that she is not affiliated with any political party. She will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2008, and replaces Ms. Laura Guluzzy whose term has expired. Council District 2 - Ms. Dawn Pung is a 62-year resident of Hawaii, and is being re-appointed to this committee. Ms. Pung is a former administrator of the Ka'u Hospital and serves with many community organizations such as American Red Cross, the Hawaii Nurses Association, the American Cancer Society and the Zonta Club of Hilo.
