Re: Operating Budget
The State of Hawaii -Hawaii Tourism Authority is providing an additional funding of
$50,000 to the Department of Research & Development's Product Enrichment Program for
the County of Hawaii. The extra funds will be used in calendar year 2005 to support and
improve the tourism product development initiatives and projects.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
additional funds into the Product Development Program account and bringing the total
grant appropriation to $525,000.

Dear Ms. Testa:
We are very pleased to inform you that the Hawaii Tourism Authority has approved an
award of $50,000 to the County of Hawaii to support tourism product development initiatives for
calendar year (CY) 2005 programs.
These funds are available to you to support those projects which help to improve your
tourism product offerings. We will be drafting up a contract for your consideration that details
the program's objectives and criteria. All or portions of these funds maybe sub-contracted to
other organizations as needed. To assist you in soliciting such proposals, we have enclosed a
sample application form for your use.
