Re: Additional allocation of the annual state private activity bond ceiling
The County of Hawaii wishes to initiate a single family loan program similar to the State
of Hawai'i's Hula Mae Program for the residents of Hawaii County. Also, the County
intends to work cooperatively with the State to create a single family homeownership
loan program that will complement the State's housing programs and initiatives.
Pursuant to Chapter 396 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, a county may request
additional allocations of the annual state private activity bond ceiling from the State.
Enclosed is a resolution to induce the State of Hawaii to allocate additional unused
2004 private activity bond authority to the County of Hawaii.

The attached resolution is required pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 39B to induce the State of
Hawaii to allocate additional unused 2004 private activity bond authority to the County of Hawaii.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County wishes to initiate a single family loan program similar to the State's Hula Mae program for the
