Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 28-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 28-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 53, dated December 17, 2004, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of
more than one fiscal year for amulti-year lease for three copiers.
The Hawaii County Police Department wishes to enter into afive-year lease contract for three
copiers, which will be located at the following locations: Public Safety Building Machine Room,
Public Safety Building Records, and Kona Patrol. The leases on their three copiers currently in
use have expired. Obtaining leases on more technically advanced copiers will increase staff
productivity via faster copying and forms printing.
Funds would be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 28-04
and recommends its adoption.
