Dear Mr. Onomura:
As per the Public Works Committee Meeting held on August 5, 1997, we would appreciate the
building division cooperation in enacting a enforcement moratorium covering illegal banners and
flags on the International Motors property in Kealakekua, as well as business mentioned in the
sign variance request by International Motors.
The reason for the moratorium is staff will be reviewing Chapter 3 of the Hawaii County code,
relating to Advertising and Signs. Many concerns have been raised by Councilmembers regarding
definitions and enforcement's, and a review and recommendations aze in order.
