Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Encapsulated Asbestos Removal and Air
Conditioning Upgrade at County Building project for $1,500,000 to the Capital Budget.
This project includes the removal of encapsulated asbestos from existing roof trusses as
well as asbestos that have migrated from the roof trusses to the first floor ceiling space of
the County Building; the replacement of all air conditioning air handler units with new
energy efficient units along with the cleaning and insulating of existing air conditioning duct
work; and the replacement of existing ceiling tiles with new ones.

Amend Ordinance 04-75, Capital Budget by adding an appropriation for:
Encapsulated Asbestos Removal and
Air Conditioning Upgrade At County Building 1,500,000
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County Building was built back in the mid 1960's. Due to the deteriorating condition of this facility, we
are requesting funds to remove encapsulated asbestos from existing roof trusses as well as asbestos that
have migrated from the roof trusses to the first floor ceiling space of the County Building. All air conditioning
air handler units will be replace with new energy efficient units along with the cleaning and insulating of
existing AC duct work. All ceiling tiles will be replaced.
