Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 38-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 38-05, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 88, dated January 26, 2005, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Mr. Clayton
Bryant Young.
Mr. Clayton Bryant Young has graciously donated four (4) oil paintings to the department of
public works, which will be displayed at the Aupuni Center. The value of this donation is
estimated at $16,000.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Mr. Clayton Bryant Young, P.O. Box 6438, Hilo,
Hawaii 96720-8928, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 38-OS
and recommends its adoption.
