Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 39-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 39-05, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 89, dated January 26, 2005, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Territorial
Builders, Inc.
The Territorial Builders. Inc has graciously donated a custom two-man lifeguard tower to the
department of parks and recreation, which will be used by the County of Hawaii water safety
ofticers at Kahalu`u Beach Park. The value of this donation is estimated to be between $12,000
and $15.000.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section I3-12, Hawaii County Charter, the council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Jerry Akers, Territorial Builders, Inc.,
72-4040 Ke Ana Wai Street, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740, acknowledging this generous
donation.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 39-OS
and recommends its adoption.
