No. 42-OS PLACE: Council Chambers TIME: 9:00 a.m. Council Chair Safarik and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, I~lawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 42-05, reports as follows: Resolution No. 42-05, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 96, dated January 31, 2005, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an inter- governmental agreement with the City and County of Honolulu for real property tax support services, and authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year. The real property administrations of the four counties realize that they have common concerns and need to support each other. They determined that benefits could be realized by working together to share resources. As a result, through a cost sharing agreement with the City and County of Hawaii, certain real property services will be provided to support our county's real property tax program. The County of Hawaii wishes to enter into this multi-year inter-governmental agreement with the City and County of Honolulu for three years, with the option of two additional one-year terms. Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, county departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. There was no discussion on this measure.
