I provided orallsatimony at ihs January 21,2005 hearing before fhe Planning
Gommlaslon. Included below are some of the concerns that 1 raised.
1) How come fhb devok>per is determining for fhe community whoa we

2) Why ore we IetNrrg ihb develops set an ugly precedent by creating o
honfage road fhot wNl solely benefit his project! I thought homage roads
wore buNf to accorrrrrtodate existing businesses who, through no fauN of
their own, becorrte impacted by a widened highway (tike a heeway)??
3) Can you imagine what an ugly haftic mess thh proJed (even M N b scaled
back) wNl create N we let him use hla roadwoy design?
4) Why h this developer "baNing" the courtt~j with a mauka makal road that
w01 only ssrve his neetls and not the Heads d the surrounding community
since ti dwd ends across hem the gated community of Kohakal btafes?
5) Why b the devebper being vague in not providing detaNs of how large his
down sized protect b going to be7 Since he claims that he Is bulkling this
protect to serve those of us "hem the comrrwnity" who Ave within a mile
hem his protect, then shouldn't Eris project be a smaN community sKed
project to fN us rather than to IM the passing halflc Itrat he h really buNding

6) Since our community b already estoblhhed, why are we Ietltng fhb
developer determine for us where and how large our shopping eompklces
should be? Shouldn't we decide these things In a Communtiy
Devebpment Plan?
