RE: Nomination to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Western Interstate
Region (WIR) Board of Directors
A nomination to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Western Interstate Region
(WIR) Board of Directors is needed due to a vacancy created with the departure of Mike Tulang.
I would like this matter to be considered by the Council at its next meeting on March 16, 2005.
1 believe Angcl Pilago would be a willing and able member of this Committee. Your
consideration of this appointment is appreciated.

RF,: Request to Waive Consideration of Nomination to the National Association of Counties (NACo)
Western Interstate Region (W[R) Board of Directors to the Full Council
Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii, I request
your support for waiver of this matter from my Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental
Relations for consideration and approval by the full Council at its next scheduled meeting on March 16,
2005.
Due to the lengthy confirmation process for approval of representatives to the NACo WIR Board of
Directors, and the upcoming NACo WIR Annual Conference on May 25-27, 2005, the HSAC staff has
requested our Council's consideration of a nomination the National Association of Counties (NACo) Westem
Interstate Region (WIR) Board of Directors as soon as possible. Action requested: Nomination of Council
Member K. Angel Pilago to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Western Interstate
Region (WIR) Board of Directors to the Full Council.
It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted for this matter to be placed onto the next Council
agenda for review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the
matter shall be referred to the Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations for
placement on its future agenda.
