Dear Mr. Safarik.
Thank you for the opportunity to meet with the Committee on Human
Services and Economic Development about Goodwill Industries of
Hawaii's Work Experience Program yesterday. To follow up on our
conversation, we are requesting $29,500 to fund this program. The
Amount of Request for County Funds was incorrectly listed on page 1 of
our grant request as $20,000. The requested amount was later listed
correctly as $29,500 on pages 4, 6 and 8. We apologize for the error and
the confusion it caused.
The funding we are requesting will allow us to continue to provide work
experience opportunities for adults with disabilities, expand services to
high school students with disabilities transitioning into the workforce,
purchase assistive devices, increase training periods, and address
transportation barriers.
We appreciate your time and look forward to hearing the council's
decision.
