Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 44-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 44-05, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Commwlication
No. 102, dated February 7, 2005, authorizes the payment of funds for amulti-year lease of a
copy machine.
The Hawaii County police department's Hilo driver license section wishes to enter into a
five-year lease agreement for a copy machine. 'T'heir current copier is constantly being repaired,
which disrupts work. Funds would be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1. Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later tlscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Fhere was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 44-OS
and recommends its adoption.
