RE: House Bill 1418
I would like to respond to the testimony submitted by Council Vice Chair Bob Jacobson
dated February 4, 2005, in opposition to HB 1418 relating to Land Use and Agricultural
Subdivisions.
In his testimony, Vice Chair Jacobson represents to you, among other things, that "The
people of my island don't want this bill."
Vice Chair Jacobson is entitled to present his personal views to you. However, please be
informed that his representation is not the official position of the County of Hawai°i or
this Council.
The County stands behind the approved and executed Development Agreement with
1250 Oceanside Partners. In the matter of Kelly v. 1250 Oceansfcle Partners, the County
of Hawaii has appealed the Third Circuit Court decision to the Hawai i Supreme Court.
That- appeal was authorized by vote of this Council.
