Subject: Cannabis Eradication Budget
Aloha kakou,
I humbly request that the council seperate the cannabis eradication line item from
the budget for the purpose of further dialogue regarding this important issue.
Essentially, government participation in cannabis eradication is futile for basic
economic reasons: increasing scarcity in a black market increases the price and
provides a greater incentive for entrepenuers to enter the market. Therefore,
whether government spends $3,000 or $3,000,000 the effect is counter
productive. Please consider spending this money on education, prevention, and
treatment instead.
Mahalo,
