In order to simplify the proper course of action by the Council to accept Gifts or Donations, 1 would like
to suggest the following, based on cvmmuuiuatiuus and County Codc (uttached)~
l) Tf the donations value exceeds $1,000 then n Rc~olution is required;
Tf the donation has a useful life of less than one year or the value is less than $1,000 the
Coaneil may adopt the donative by Letter;
3) if the donation is made as a result of a community benefit assassnrenl yr condition to a permit
or approval, thin a Resolution would be necessary, reaazdless of its value, i.e.; a shovel
worth $20 is dunatcd as the condition of a subdivision permit being approved.
In addition; `'the planing Department is Lo maintain a listing of all community benefit assessments,
exactions on permit or approval conditions, and shall submit an amoral report on the same [v the Council
on or before the first day of :March for the Council's review and use in the formulation of the capital
