I understand this is not the first time officers have been called out to the pool; several disturbances in the past
few weeks have occured where 911 was called. As this pool is for the community, it needs to be a safe place where
mothers can bring their children to swim or anyone can come and enjoy without feeling worried for their safety. It seems
that the lifeguards are now being called away from their primary job -that of watching the public in the pool - to deal with
security issues. Sad as it is to say, maybe Kona now needs a security guard at the public pool. I remember when all the

entrances to the pool were open, but not so anymore. The lifeguards have enough to deal with without having to act as
policemen too.

Wanted to give my input on this matter as I am not available to attend the council meeting. Thanks for your time.

Wendy Walters

73-1247 Hiolani St. K.K. 96740

325-1236
.
Comm. No. ~2'y LO
Ref. To: C~_ewr/w
Ref.
