Dear Chairman Safarik and respected members of the Hawaii County Council,
It has come to my attention that there is a chance to separate the marijuana drug enforcement law funding from
the rest of the budget and address it in a separate hearing, something which has been done before. The funding
in question pertains in large part to the Green Harvest helicopter eradication effort. Hawaii NORML supports
this initiative and asks that you give it full consideration.
I will not bother you with the details and reasons why Hawaii NORML, its members and the majority of Hawaii
Cowrty residents oppose the funding (helicopter noise making babies cry, etc.), but I will ask that you consider
the opinions of your fellow residents as much as you would ask that they consider and respect yours.

"Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet
sometimes seeming to a divines purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing
we do know: That we are here for the sake of others for the countless unknown souls with whose
fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and
inner life is built upon the labors of people, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert
myself in order to give in return as much as I have received." -Albert Einstein
