To whom it May Concern,
I have recently become aware of the new bill that you are trying to pass, that
would limit the number of pets that could occupy one household. The same bill would
also decide whether my animal could run freely on my own property.
Recently my husband and I have cleared the Hawaiian Homes waiting list for
pastoral lands. It has always been our dream to have a big family with lots of keiki
running around. We would build a big house and have a large flower farm. After being
married for 3 years and trying desperately to have children we have just found out that a
surgery that I had when 1 was younger has made it impossible to ever have a family of
our own.
It took me a very long time to get over such shocking news, but to help me get
over the loss my wonderful husband bought me a puppy. It took time forme to wane up
to her because I was never a dog lover.
Over the years I have come to love Ahi (my dog) and all 5 of other dogs that I
now have more than anything, probably just the same way that parents love their
children. Would you tell a family how many children they could have or where their
children could play on their own property, I think not.
These are my children!
Sincerely,
Jamie Kaniho Langi
Comm.
