My name is ('ua Mench and I am yubrnitting tcotimony on behalf of the Kahanaiki `Ghana.
The `Ghana would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Harry Kim, Planning Direc-
tor Chris Yuen, and all of the Gounclimernber5 who have worked long and hard to adopt the
County General Plan.
ThG'Ohana has conielsteniy supported the revisions in Draft 1 and now eupports the
adoption of Draft 4 ay amended. The changes to the general plan reflect a refreshingly
new SenFitivity nn the part of our County planners to the needs of our communities.
Thank you for giving us hope that our future will give rise to more protected open Space,
parks, rccrcatlonal area6, cultural 5itea and open shoreline areas. 7hc revisions to the
general plan offer ug a chance to protect what 15 unique and special about Hawaii.
It ie critical to adopt the General flan NOW so that we can move forward with Regional
Planning and Community Developrnerrt Plane.
