Your Committee on Environmental Management, to which was referred Communication
No. 152, reports as follows:
Communication No.152 transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim on March 3, 2005, requested the
approval of the appointment of Mr. J. William Sanborn to the County of Hawaii Fnvironmental
Management Commission.
.I. William Sanborn, a lifetime resident of Hawaii residing in council district 9, is currently a
mortgage banker with the Homestreet Bank. Mr. Sanborn previously served on the County of
Hawaii Salary Commission. A member of the Republican Party, if confirmed, he will serve a
term to expire on December 31, 2009, replacing Mr. Riley Smith. whose term expired on
December 31, 2004.
Your Committee on Environmental Management recommends confirmation of the appointment
of Mr. J. William Sanborn to the Environmental Management Commission to serve a term to
expire nn December 31, 2009.
