Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Commm~ication No. 136, reports as follows:
Communication No. 136, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated
February 28, 2005, authorizes the acceptance of donation from the Kona Dolphins Swim Club.
The Kona Dolphins Swim Club has graciously donated three awards pedestals to the department
of parks & recreation to be used for aquatic events' awards ceremonies held at the Kona
Community Aquatic Center. The value of this donation is estimated at $1,500.
Pursuant to article XIII, section 13-12, Ilawai`i County Charter, the councih on behalfof the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to chapter 3, article 30, section 2-162(c), of the Hawaii County Code, any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of
finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Kona Dolphins Swim Club, Mr. Harry Canales,
P.O. Box 695, Kailua-Kona. Hawaii 96745, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the three awards pedestals from the
Kona Dolphins Swim Club.
