Aloha, Mc Safarik
We want to congratulate the County Council on its responsible and visionary actions in crafting
Bill 53, which will set aside $500,000 for the purchase of the land around Honuapo in Ka'u. We
urge you to lead the Council in passing this important Bill.
Although we live in Kohala, not Ka'u, we want the County Council to know that preserving coastal
open space is widely supported around the Island. Data from around the country shows that
preserving open space is a wise economic choice for any community.
Again, we urge you to support Bill 53 to ensure the treasures of this Island are preserved for all
time. Thank you for your leadership and Aloha.
