Dear Members of Hawaii County Council,
I was born and raised on the windward side of Oahu, spending a lot of
time in the ocean. Now, with all the beach front development, there is not
the same kind of ocean space and feeling at home.
I moved to Kau, because this is one of the last places in Hawa~i with a
beautiful raw land anda coastline that we can enjoy.
Save the beaches and coastline for our future generation, for our sea life,
especially the honu and honu~ea. Even the monk seal has given birth on
the Kau Coast in recent years.
We ask for your support for the acquisition of Honu~apo for a public
preserve. I worked on restoration of the Kahalu~u Fishpond on Oahu and
would like to be part of restoring the fishponds at Honu~apo.
