I am writing in support of Bill 80. I wholeheartedly
believe we should prevent future subdivisions that are
not agricultural from being built on agricultural land
(unless rezoned), and prevent such misuses as happened
in the unfortunate Hokulia project. I think we
should disallow the current practice of developers
subdividing agricultural land for speculators.
Instead, developers should have to seek rezoningg
rather than subdivision approval for non-agricultrual
projects on designated agricultural land. Let's keep
the Big Island from becoming another Maui.
