Aloha,
I have presented testimony before on the importance of a Land Trust for
Hawaii County. I respectfully submit that each and every one of you are in a
position to create a legacy for this island and for each of us who lives
here. That legacy will remain long, long after we are all gone. And that ` ;
legacy is the land itself. You have heard the cries, you know the sentiment.
At some point, you have to do what is right and what, if you are at all - -
human and sensitive to the future, this is what must be in your hearts. Save ~
,
land and open spaces now, and for generations to come. No matter how
controversial it may seem, in the long term, a decision in favor of these
bills will be one with which you can hold your head high, knowing you
ultimately did the right thing.
